Question:  Why majority of Americans are so poor??   Is American Dream a collective self delusion or an
Outright marketing fraud or lottery shot for lucky few??   Was our so called prosperity since 80’s real?
Why so many Americans can’t even secure the very BASIC human need, roof over their heads and put food on table??  (massive ongoing foreclosure and steady food stamp application nationwide).
Here are some data collected before the current recession.
1.        Some 1.7 million U.S. households -- 1 of every 72 -- filed for bankruptcy in 2004.
2.        Average per household debt in the U.S., not counting mortgage debt, is about $14,500.
3.        Average credit card debt among all American households is $9.300 in 2004
4.        Average personal wealth of a 55-year-old American, including home equity: less than $20,300 in 2004.
5.        9 of 10 Americans claim credit card debt has never been a source of worry.
6.        31% of Americans admit to maxing out a credit card in 2004.
7.        The personal savings rate in the United States has dropped from 7% in the 1980s to just under 1.7% since 2000.
